ACS GOES TO BOHOL

The recent earthquake that shook the Philippines particularly the Central Visayas left 150 people confirmed dead  and  many others homeless. It was the first strong earthquake ever experienced for many generations. Many were caught unprepared.

The Adventist Community Services (ACS) particularly the Sipalay and Ilo-Ilo Chapter were ready and prepared to send their troops where  help is needed. Bohol and Cebu province were greatly affected and declared under the state of calamity by the president of the Philippines. Bohol got the lion's share as many historical places and churches were destroyed.

As ACS goes to Bohol, many lives were touched as these concerned individuals unselfishly rendered their heartfelt services to humanity as well as to the community  as a whole. To think these people have come all the way from Sipalay, Negros Oriental and Ilo-Ilo City is beyond anybody's imagination. They traveled and met at one point to get a ride to Bohol putting aside the comfort of home.
ACS Ilo- Ilo City
There's a lot of stories untold of the tireless efforts these people have experienced just to render service to the people who are affected by the earthquake.Stories that can make you see how it touched others lives.

October 15, 2013 at around 8:12 in the morning, a mild quake was felt and it intensified to a magnitude of  7.2   for a span of 30 seconds. It was the first time for Cebu to experience such tremor which caused many lives and many buildings destroyed.  Immediately after the quake , sirens were heard all over the place. People were shouting and many were crying! The people panicked as aftershocks continue to shake every now and then.

Hospital staff as well as the sick people gathered in the front yard as aftershocks continue to shake .People joined hands in putting up a temporary shelter for the hospital patients and staff as well.

.

We surely thank the people particularly the staff who tirelessly stand side by side with their patients amids the chaos , the heat and aftershocks that everybody is experiencing. Above all, To  God be the glory for the preservation of our lives!
